I had the code read and the code was from a large leak in the EVAP system. It’s a great car but it has the “check engine” light on. I have found most shops - whether they are small local places or big dealers - want to do a good job. Turn the key to the on position while holding the trip meter reset button until the meter reading shows six zeros.

When the light goes out you have found the circuit causing the problem. Now remove one fuse at a time until the light goes out. If the test light illuminates, there is an electrical drain.

Remove the negative battery cable and install the test light between the negative post and the cable. Any DIY advice?Ī: Most smaller boats use simple electrical systems and with a test light you should be able to find the issue. The bilge-pump will run when I’m not there but we haven’t had that much rain to make a difference and the boat doesn’t leak. I have cleaned connections and checked fuses, and all seems good.
